Studio 17 Salon Recognized as
Small Business of Year!
Studio 17, a full-service hair salon and day spa, has
been named Small Business of the Year by the Tustin Chamber of Commerce.
Studio 17, and owner Kristin Chahbazian, have been at
17331 E, 17th St. since July of 1999 and Chamber Executive Director
Marisa Charette said they received the awards for their consistent and
continuing service to the community.
She (Chahbazian) does a lot of fundraisers,
Charette said. Its a special and unique in that it is not
a highly recognized business in the community, but it does a lot for
the community behind the scenes.
Studio 17 donates its services and products to any local
school that requests it. Through the Tustin Chapter of National Charity
League, Chahbazian offers instructional classes to high school seniors
on how to do their hair and makeup for their debutante balls, as well
as how to look nice for college and the business world.
They hold a yearly fundraiser for Maternal Outreach
Management Systems (MOMS), a non-profit group that supports low-income
pregnant women. It is an educational program that helps them have healthier
babies.
Studio 17 donates goods and services to numerous charities,
organizations and their events, including St. Josephs Cancer Research
Center; the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure; and the Swim for Life
Foundation, which provides safety training to prevent children and infants
from drowning.
Staff recently added a new fundraiser to their list
for research on Cystic Fibrosis.
I feel very extremely honored to do this because
it makes me feel good, Chahbazian said.
